NFL Division Realignment: NFC
Last week, I did a division realignment of the AFC, and now I will do the NFC. Again, this is based on geographic location and potential new division rivalries. This time around, a couple of the divisions stayed the same since it did not make logical sense to move the teams. I will do my key points for those divisions based on the current teams.
Here it goes:
NFC North: Minnesota Vikings, Green Bay Packers, Detroit Lions, Chicago Bears
- Vikings vs Packers is a new rivalry for the next 5 years
- Can the Bears rise from the bottom with a new offense?
- The Lions look to rise from mediocrity
- Can Aaron Rodgers continue to make up for an underwhelming defense?
- The Vikings look to control the division with a balanced offense and defense
NFC South: Atlanta Falcons, New Orleans Saints, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Dallas Cowboys
- Cowboys make new rivalries with Saints and Falcons
- The Bucs look to make the division race interesting, depending on Jameis
- This could be a three-team division race, except for the Bucs
- Dak Prescott will face the pressure of playing Brees and Ryan twice a year
- This division retains its title as most competitive in the conference
NFC East: Philadelphia Eagles, New York Giants, Washington Redskins, Carolina Panthers
- Eagles vs Panthers becomes a new rivalry
- Cam once again plays experienced QBs in Wentz, Smith, Manning in the division
- Giants look to make noise with a revamped offense
- Redskins experience with Smith may yield great results
- Eagles should once again be the cream of the crop in this division for several years
NFC West: Los Angeles Rams, Seattle Seahawks, Arizona Cardinals, San Francisco 49ers
- Young QBs reignite Rams vs 49ers rivalry
- Seahawks rebuild terminates their stranglehold on this division
- Cardinals are up and coming, just in a few years
- Can the Rams go further than winning the division?
- Will Jimmy G. continue his magic and lead the 49ers to greater heights?
