Best Indian Restaurants in USA

Craving Indian? From my personal experience, let me share with you the best Indian restaurants I have had in USA. Perhaps you may try them too.

Bombay Curry- Skagway, Alaska

Easily the most remote location on this list, Skagway is a small town in Southeast Alaska that houses a permanent population less than 1,000. Yes, you read that right. Prepare to be greeted by a picture of the Hindu God Ganpati, and enjoy the fresh Indian cuisine in a small, quaint atmosphere. Try the okra (bindi) and samosa.

Indian Village- Greenfield, Wisconsin

All Punjabi food is available in this petite restaurant. For non-veg lovers, the chicken tikka masala is scrumptious and the sauce leaves a fabulous lingering taste. Upon special request, you can indulge in Gujarati cuisine such as rotla, kichdi, and cadi.

Bollywood Theater- Portland, Oregon

Outside proper Portland, Bollywood Theater is hip, modern, and most importantly dishes out plentiful Indian street food. The aura of the restaurant is electric, enjoy a Bollywood movie or walk around and see Indian accessories for sale.

Food wise, enjoy perfectly fluffed Pav Bhaji, bhel, samosa chat, among other Indian street food. The wholesome taste and mixture of spices will not leave you disappointed.

Tandoor- Schererville, Indiana

From its collection of pakoras, samosas, and bhajiya, Tandoor in Northwest Indiana brings tasteful flavor to its multitude of dishes. Consider the Chicken Tikka Masala for a mouth-watering curry.

Amber- Madison, Wisconsin

Expect top-notch service at Amber in one of the most growing cities in the country, Madison. The food is stellar and standard Indian cuisine, however for a cool, refreshing drink, try the rose lassi. A rose essence alters the smooth slurps of lassi and rose lassi is a rare sight indeed.

Indikitch- New York, New York

An Indian version of Chipotle you ask? Yes, well in America’s most bustling city where the cuisine is diverse, Indikitch provides quick meals that are healthy as much as they are tasty. Add curry, vegetables, and rice together and you have a filling bowl.

If you are craving a burrito type entrée, then perhaps consider adding the same ingredients to make a mouth-watering wrap. The combinations are endless in this grub place in the heart of New York.

Taj Palace- Chesterfield, Missouri

From the moment you see the red-orange curry sauce, your mouth begins watering. At Taj Palace in suburban St. Louis, you’ll be ordering more for home as the diverse menu will satisfy your taste buds.

Bawarchi Biriyanis- Louisville, Colorado

You won’t be short on options at Bawarchi. From monster dosas to Indo-Chinese noodles to juicy chicken tikka masala, there’s something for everyone here. Add in a large glass of mango lassi and you will be going home with a full stomach.

Paradise Bar & Grill- Cedar Rapids, Iowa

A hidden gem in the Heartland, Paradise’s atmosphere resembles that of a sports bar, but don’t forget adding a variety of Indo-Chinese/Punjabi food to the scene. The methi Chicken is cooked to soft pieces, making you wonder whether you are eating tender soft chicken cubes or drinking rich yellow sauce.

Mirch Masala- Las Vegas, Nevada

In the heart of Vegas, Mirch Masala doesn’t want to go unnoticed, and the truck advertising the place certainly caught my eye. Walking in, the place fit in with the perfect Vegas vibe: chic, modern, upscale, and a bar-like atmosphere. Eating the perfectly orange Panner Makhani wasn’t bad either.

Exotic India- Coralville, Iowa

Located near the University of Iowa, Exotic India is a small, quaint restaurant with plenty of variety on the menu. A vegetarian platter consists of samosa, pakora, and bhajiya. Curry lovers will be blown away by the perfectly appearing color of the various options. How about you top it off with a lassi?

Enter into a modern-styled Indian restaurant in Tava. Here, immerse your taste buds in various curries, swirled with a dash of what seems like cinnamon, giving a lasting impression in the form of a terrific aftertaste.

Previously a pancake house, this large Indian food establishment in Southwest Michigan is home to an array of options. Feeling some noodles? You got it. Love dosa? At your plate very soon.

Rasoi- Monmouth Junction/Iselin/Jersey City, New Jersey

Who says there should only be one place to enjoy a restaurant’s food. In New Jersey, Rasoi is popular, and is known to have multiple locations in the NY/NJ/PA tristate area. When the warm, fluffy, buttered naan come out, you’ll be licking your chops and ready for the meal of a lifetime.

Get your variety of dosas at Dakshin in Central Florida. It’s a filling, hearty meal and the perfect way to cap off a day of Disney World sightseeing (if that’s why you are there).
