Quick Shows to Watch on Netflix
The decision of what to watch on Netflix can be challenging with all the options. Sometimes, you must wait for certain season premieres and end up watching other shows to keep you entertained. With the plethora of Netflix Originals and sitcoms, not all are bound to be ten seasons like Friends. In fact, some sitcoms are quite short, like only one season. Though an attachment to sitcoms and their characters is sometimes inevitable, short sitcoms can be great fillers while waiting for another show, if you want to watch something quick during the summer, or need something to watch even one night or day. The sitcoms that fit this bill have been canceled after one season, awaiting the filming of another season, or awaiting renewal. Here are some current Netflix sitcoms that are a quick watch:

Family Reunion (2019)
Family Reunion is a Netflix Original that premiered on Wednesday, July 10. It revolves around Moz and Cocoa McKellan, a couple who decides to relocate to Columbus, Georgia from Seattle, Washington with their four children. As the couple and their four children, Jade, Shaka, Mazzi, and Ami McKellan, try to adjust to life in humid Georgia, they must live with M. McKellan’s parents M’Dear and Grandpa. The sitcom shows the contrast between life in a big city and a small town. The adaptation process of eight people of different ages and beliefs under one roof is difficult, but working together as a family and the importance of being connected as family are major themes of the show.
All About the Washingtons (2018)
All About the Washingtons is centered around Joey Washington, a hip-hop artist who decides to call it a career to spend more time with his kids. Like Family Reunion, this sitcom stresses the importance of family connection.
Marlon (2017)
This last show is two seasons and has ended, but still worthy of being on this list. Marlon is a hilarious sitcom starring Marlon Wayne, a divorced man with kids who cannot seem to get himself out of his ex-wife Ashley Wayne’s house. The divorced couple must learn to move on from their marriage while still being good parents to their young kids, Marley and Zack Wayne. M. Wayne’s peculiar personality often leads to light bickering with his ex-wife about raising their kids. Despite his juvenile acts, M. Wayne has good intentions and often tries to be a part of his kids’ life, especially since they live with his ex-wife. A. Wayne is often the voice of reason, but the former couple find themselves in hilarious situations throughout the show, including faking being married again, going to see a divorce counselor with disastrous results, and M. Wayne becoming a wingman for his ex-wife.
Rounding out the cast is M. Wayne’s unemployed friend Stevie Noggle, who happens to be crashing on his couch and Yvette, A. Wayne’s friend seeking love and often arguing with M. Wayne.
Shows that are short can serve as good gateways to anticipated season premieres. Though the shows on this list are short, they are equally packed with lessons, laughs, and themes. You might be left wishing there was more.
