Malibu Rescue: The Next Wave Releases August 4th!
There is another installment of Malibu Rescue that will soon surf its way onto screens! Malibu Rescue first came to Netflix as a film in May 2019 and subsequently followed with eight episodes from its TV series in June 2019.
It was created by Savage Steve Holland and Scott McAboy. Holland is a well-known director and writer and has directed episodes for many different sitcoms, including Zeke and Luther, Lizzie McGuire, Phil of the Future, Unfabulous, Zoey 101, and Big Time Rush. He has also directed three TV films centered around the Fairly OddParents from Nickelodeon.
The series/film Malibu Rescue centers around kids involved in a junior rescue program in Malibu, California who are on a team together. This team, called the Flounders, consists of Dylan (Jackie Jacobson), Tyler (Ricardo Hurtado), Eric (Alkoya Brunson), Gina (Breanna Yde), and Lizzie (Abby Donnelly). Together, this group of misfit kids from the Los Angeles valley makes it their mission to show they are capable of being fit to be junior lifeguards (and not actual flounders) and have their own tower.
The Next Wave is the second film installment in this Netflix series, and it will release about a year after the first film. It will feature the same main cast from the previous two parts.
It looks like viewers can expect a ton of action and adrenaline in this second film as the Flounders look to up their game and further prove their value as junior lifeguards!
